Gunther Joins PLU As Head Athletic Trainer

Aaron Gunther has been named head athletic trainer at Pacific Lutheran University by Director of Athletics Laurie Turner.

Gunther, who earned a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University and a master's from University of Central Oklahoma, will start at PLU on July 9.

From 2007-12, Gunther served as head athletic trainer at Olivet College, a NCAA Division III school located in Olivet, Mich. In that role, he supervised daily operations of the athletic training department and medical coverage for the school's 19 varsity and seven junior varsity athletic programs. While at Olivet he facilitated a relationship with Michigan State University to provide team physicians, and also developed an athletic training policy and procedure manual.

"We look forward to having Aaron join our athletics staff," said Director of Athletics Laurie Turner. "He is familiar with the Division III philosophy and will also bring his experience and a fresh perspective to our athletic training room."
