PLU Football Earns High Marks in Final National Polls

With the 2010 NCAA Division III football season tucked away in the record books, the Pacific Lutheran program earned high marks in two national polls.

The Lutes, who finished the season with an 8-1 record, earned the No. 20 ranking in the final D3football.com Top 25 poll. PLU garnered a total of 163 points in voting conducted among a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country.

Pacific Lutheran earned the No. 23 ranking in the American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches Poll. The Lutes earned 139 points in that poll.

Wisconsin-Whitewater finished atop both polls after defeating Mount Union (Ohio), 31-21, last Saturday at the Division III championship Stagg Bowl in Salem, Va.
