A trio of Pacific Lutheran football players - senior center Court Knoblauch, junior defensive end Sam Lavis and sophomore safety Greg Hibbard - have earned Capital One Academic All-District 8 recognition.
Knoblauch (Sumner, Wash. / Life Christian Academy) maintains a 3.64 grade point average as a business finance major. He has been a two-year starter for the Lutes who average 33 points and more than 400 yards of total offense per game. Knoblauch is one of the team's three captains.
Lavis (Spokane, Wash. / Gonzaga Prep) has a 3.91 grade point average as a biology major. Lavis splits starting duties at his defensive end position and has recorded 21 total tackles, including two quarterback sacks, this season.
Hibbard (Olympia, Wash. / Capital HS) has a 4.0 grade point average with a major in business. He has started all eight games for the Lutes this season, ranks second on the team with 52 tackles, and also has an interception and fumble recovery to his credit this season.
Student-Athletes are nominated and selected for the Capital One Academic All-District by sports information directors at their schools.
