Conti and Schilling Earn NWC Recognition

Senior James Conti and junior Cameron Schilling have been honored by the Northwest Conference as the 2012 All-NWC basketball teams have been announced.

Conti, a point guard from Edmonds, Wash., has been named to the conference's second team. Cameron Schilling, a wing/post from Federal Way., Wash., has earned honorable mention recognition for his play in the 2011-12 season.

In his final season with the Lutes, Conti played the best basketball of his career, finishing the season ranked first in the NWC in total assists (118) and steals (67). Starting all 25 games for PLU this season, James added a team-high 13.7 points per game, ranking 10th in the conference.

Junior Cameron Schilling added an outside shooting presence to his offensive repertoire in the  2011-12 season and his hard work paid dividends for his game and the Lutes. Schilling, who went 0-for-2 from three-point range in the 2010-11 season, shot .403 percent (25-for-62) from behind the arc this season for PLU. Averaging 13.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for the Lutes, Schilling ranked 12th and fifth in the NWC, respectively, in those categories.
