Lutes in Second at UPS Logger Invitational

FIRCREST - Pacific Lutheran shot a 309 and is two strokes off the pace after Thursday's opening round of the UPS Logger Invitational at Fircrest Golf Course.

Tournament host Puget Sound shot a 307 over 18 holes, followed by PLU at 309, Whitworth at 315 and North Idaho College at 317.

Freshman Tim Livermore led the Lutes with a four-over 75 on the par 71, 6,685-yard layout. He trails Puget Sound's Riley Conlin by three strokes.

PLU senior Daron Casey was tied for third with a 76, while sophomore Dustin Hegge and senior Scott Zhang both carded 76. Junior Auston Hilkin came in with an 82 and freshman Sam Hodge had an 84.

The event concludes with another 18 holes on Friday.
