TACOMA, Wash. – The Pacific Lutheran University men's golf team will be competing in the Willamette Spring Thaw Invitational in Bend, Oregon over the weekend in the team's final competion before the Northwest Conference Championships.
The Lutes have had a phenomenal season, with a win at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic on Sunday putting them in the first place in the conference standings heading into the NWC Tournament. They're sitting at the top spot with 14 points, one point in front of George Fox University and two in front of both Whitman College and Whitworth University.
For Jordan Brajcich, the Lutes are at a perfect spot to take on the rest of the year.
"I feel like we are peaking at the right time," said Brajcich. "I think our win last weekend was just the start of what could be something special. A win this weekend would be huge for our confidence going into the Conference Championship in a couple weeks."
The Lutes are the defending NWC Champions, and they have their sights set on repeating their title again this year.
"We're really close to accomplishing our goal of qualifying for the National Championships," said Brajcich. "We just have to stay focused and play our own game. It's an exciting time to be apart of this team."
The Lutes will be competing on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 at the Pronghorn Golf Club in Bend, Oregon.
