It was a par 72 course of about 6500 yards. The Washington Cup invitational hosted three teams: Pacific Lutheran University, Whitworth, and Whitman. Whitworth was able to eke out a victory at the Washington Cup invitational by tallying a scorecard of 309, compared to PLU, who finished with 314. Whitman came in third with a total of 333. Joey DeGroff, a junior at Whitworth, won the invitational, as he was the only golfer to shoot under 70. He scored 69. Seth Nickerson, a freshman, must have been motivated by watching the Masters on Friday, as he finished in second place to lead the Lutes with a score of 73. Dustin Hegge, a junior at PLU, managed to finish in fourth place with a score of 78. The Lutes will be preparing for the Northwest Conference Tournament, which is the final invitational of the 2013 spring season. This invitational takes place on April 20 and 21.
