HILLSBORO, Ore. -Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer student-athlete Eddie Na was named the Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after collecting four goals in a pair of road wins in Oregon.
Na, the reigning NWC Offensive Player of the Year, tallied two scores in the Lutes' (5-4-2, 3-2-1 NWC) 3-0 shutout of George Fox University on Saturday, getting on the board in the 40th and 51st minutes. The University Place, Washington native was back at it on Sunday, scoring the equalizing goal in the 72nd minute against Pacific University before converting a penalty kick in the 105th minute, lifting PLU to the 2-1 double overtime win. Na, who leads the NWC in scoring with 10 goals, propelled the Lutes up the league standings and now sit in third place heading into Saturday's clash with crosstown nemesis University of Puget Sound.
This is the first time this season Na has been recognized by the conference office. A 2016 All-Region selection and a member of the Guam National Team, Na earned NWC Offensive Player of the Week twice during the 2016 season, claiming the award on Sept. 8 and Sept. 26.
Na and the Lutes return to the pitch on Saturday, hosting UPS at 2:30 p.m. on the artificial turf at East Field.
