HILLSBORO, Ore. – The Northwest Conference office released its weekly award winners for men's soccer on Monday with Pacific Lutheran University goalkeeper RJ Noll landing NWC Defender of the Week accolades.
The junior and Yelm, Washington native lands the accolade for the first time in his career after making five saves on Saturday in a 1-0 double overtime win over crosstown nemesis University of Puget Sound. Noll finished the afternoon with five saves in 109 minutes of work, including a clutch save in overtime to notch his second clean sheet of the season and give the Lutes (6-4-2, 4-2-1 NWC) their third consecutive victory. The win allowed PLU to inch up to second place in the league standings with seven games to go.
Noll is the second Lute to be honored this season with an NWC Player of the Week Award as Eddie Na earned Offensive Player of the Week laurels last Monday.
Pacific Lutheran is back in action on Saturday, hosting Pacific University at East Field with kickoff slated for 12 p.m.
