HILLSBORO, Ore. -For the second consecutive week and the third time this season, Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer student-athlete Eddie Na is the Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week, securing the honor on Monday afternoon after a milestone performance in his final games at East Field.
Na tallies the award after netting three goals over the weekend, helping the Lutes (11-4-3, 9-2-2 NWC) secure at least a share of the conference title. The University Place, Washington native tallied the game winner against Willamette University on Saturday, forcing a tie atop the standings with the 2-1 win. The following day, Na tallied a pair of goals as the Lutes' cruised to the 4-1 win over Linfield College in his final game at East Field. Na found the back of the net in the 77th minute and again in the 87th minute with his final score setting a new school record for career goals. The forward has found the back of the net on 50 occasions, breaking the old mark of 49 shared by both Brian Gardner (1986-1989) and Mike Ferguson (2004-2007).
The reigning NWC Offensive Player of the Year was previously named NWC Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 2 and Oct. 23 while also winning the accolade twice during the 2016 campaign (Sept. 8 and Sept. 26).
The Lutes have a chance to secure the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday, making the short jaunt across town to take on the University of Puget Sound. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m.
