Matt Look was named the Head Coach of the PLU men's tennis program in the summer of 2017.
"We're excited to have Matt join our team of coaches," said Athletic Director Laurie Turner. "With his familiarity with the Northwest and his tennis experience, he will be a very good fit for PLU."
Look joins the Lute family after spending the previous two seasons as an assistant for the men's and women's tennis programs at Division I Seattle University.
"I'm thrilled to be part of the Lute family!," said Look. "Being from the Pacific Northwest, I've got a sense of the rich tradition and history with PLU tennis, and look forward to the opportunity to build this program up to its highest potential."
Prior to SeattleU, Look coached at the USTA National level, guiding six teams to the Junior Team Tennis Nationals, including a third place finish in 2007. Look has taught the sport throughout the Pacific Northwest, working at the Lakewood Racquet Club, Amy Yee Tennis Center, Add In LLC, and Avanti Sports.
"My focus is developing strong men and women of character through tennis," said Look, who will also serve as an assistant with the women's program. "Tennis teaches so many great life lessons, including problem solving, overcoming challenges, and developing new skills, that will serve our student-athletes during their time as a Lute and beyond. I want to thank (Athletic Director) Laurie Turner and (Associate Athletic Director) Jen Thomas for bringing me on board, as well as the student-athletes, coaches, and administration at Seattle University for preparing me for this opportunity."
USPTA certified and a member of the USPTA Pacific Northwest board of directors, Look received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Santa Clara University in 2003.
