HILLSBORO, Ore. - Pacific Lutheran University's Brad Hodkinson continued his strong start to the outdoor track & field season, earning Northwest Conference Track Athlete of the Week on Monday for his performance last weekend in Portland, Oregon.

The Snohomish, Washington native secured the win in the 5,000-meters at the Lewis & Clark College Spring Break Open, besting a field of 47 competitors. Hodkinson clocked a time of 14 minutes, 43.55 seconds in the event, owning a three-second gap on Chay Weaver of Division I Seattle University. His time is currently the third fastest 5K time in program history and ranks sixth in NCAA Division III this season. Hodkinson currently holds the fastest times in the NWC in the 1,500-meters, 5K, and 10,000-meters.

Hodkinson becomes the third PLU student-athlete to earn the award this season with sprinter Richard Johnson earning NWC Track Athlete of the Week on Mar. 13 while thrower Lucas Hatton won NWC Field Athlete of the Week on the same day.

The Lutes return to the oval on Saturday, trekking across town to the University of Puget Sound for the Peyton Scoring Meet.
