Lutes Finish Seventh at NCRC Championships
VANCOUVER - Pacific Lutheran finished seventh at the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Conference (NCRC) Championships held Saturday morning on Vancouver Lake.
As expected, Western Washington won the team title with 164 points, followed by Puget Sound with 130. Rounding out the team scoring were Seattle Pacific 93, Lewis & Clark 87, Humboldt State 80, Willamette 54 and Pacific Lutheran 37.
The PLU men had a stronger showing than the women, scoring 22 points to finish fifth in their standings. Lewis & Clark won the men's division with 62 points, followed by Western Washington and Puget Sound, both with 58, Seattle Pacific with 53, PLU with 22, Humboldt State with 20 and Willamette with 14.
On the women's side, Western scored 106 points, followed by Puget Sound with 72, Humboldt State 60, Seattle Pacific and Willamette 40 each, Lewis & Clark 25 and PLU 15.
The PLU men's varsity eight placed fourth out of seven boats in a time of 6:33.06, and the lightweight four finished in the middle of a five-boat race in a time of 7:11.69.
In the featured women's race, the varsity eight, the Lutes finished in seventh in a time of 8:07.40.
