Amanda Hall and Stacey Hagensen have earned Northwest Conference softball player and pitcher of the week honors for their performances in leading Pacific Lutheran to a pair of doubleheader sweeps last weekend.
Hall, a junior first baseman from Kennewick, Wash., had a tremendous weekend as the Lutes swept twinbills from Pacific and Lewis & Clark. She hit .727, scored four runs, drove in six, and had two doubles and a homer for a 1.182 slugging percentage. She also handled 31 chances at first base without an error.
Hagensen, a senior from Bellevue, Wash., and the 2011 NWC Pitcher of the Year, threw a six-inning no-hitter against Lewis & Clark on Saturday and also shut out Pacific on Friday. During the two games she pitched Stacey allowed no runs, just six hits and no walks in 12 innings.
After sweeping visiting Willamette in a conference doubleheader on Tuesday, the Lutes close out the 2012 regular season this weekend with a pair of twinbills against Puget Sound. The Lutes play at UPS on Saturday and host the Loggers on Sunday, with action slated to being at noon both days.
