SALEM, Va. - Pacific Lutheran was on the field at the Moyer Complex for practice at 10:15 (EDT) at the Division III Softball Championships.

After flying back to Seattle and arriving at the campus at about 2 a.m. Tuesday following Monday afternoon's regional title victory in Tyler, Texas, the PLU student-athletes attended Tuesday classes. At 7:15 p.m. that same night, the Lutes were back on a bus to the airport for a red eye to Philadelphia.

After a three-hour layover, they boarded a prop plane for a flight to Roanoke, Va. They were up early this morning for breakfast and then on the bus to the softball complex for practice.

Following practice (click here to see some of the photos) the Lutes will attend a BBQ - including karaoke - for all of the teams, and then they will be off to a local animal shelter to participate in their team community service project. All eight teams in the tournament are assigned a project.

Later tonight is a banquet for all of the teams.

PLU, 41-11 and ranked No. 4 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 poll, opens its Division III Softball Championships play at 1:30 p.m. (EDT) Friday against Luther, 40-7 and ranked No. 6 in the NFCA poll.
