TACOMA, Wash. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its 2018 NCAA Division III All-Region teams on Wednesday with Pacific Lutheran University softball student-athlete Kennedy Robillard landing First Team All-West Region accolades.
Robillard earns a spot on the All-West Region First Team as a utility player and is one of just three Northwest Conference student-athletes to land First Team laurels. A First Team All-NWC selection and the NWC Freshman of the Year, Robillard made a big impact for the Lutes in her first season on the diamond. The Puyallup, Washington native did a little bit of everything, appearing on the diamond as a pitcher, designated hitter, and at third base. Robillard boasted the best batting average in the NWC with a .488 average along with 16 extra base hits and 22 RBIs. Inside the circle she logged 104 innings and tossed eight complete games, boasting an 8-8 record with 36 strikeouts.
All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each of the eight Division III regions. First team All-Region choices are eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced the evening of May 23 online at NFCA.org and in person at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet in Oklahoma City.
The Lutes wrapped up the 2018 season with a 15-23 record and a 10-18 mark in Northwest Conference action.
