Women Golfers in Fifth Place at Own Tournament

LAKEWOOD - Whitman and George Fox are within a stroke of each after Saturday's first round of the PLU Invitational women's golf tournament currently underway at Oakbrook Golf & Country Club.

Playing in rainy, cold and sometimes windy weather, Whitman carded a 328 and George Fox a 329. Whitman's Tate Head is the first-round leader with a 77.

Rounding out the team scores are Whitworth 356, Linfield 357, PLU 372, Pacific 386 and Puget Sound 453.

The tournament concludes on Sunday with another 18 holes of play.
