PLU Places Second at Women's Golf Tournament

ALOHA, Ore. - Karina Shelton finished seventh overall to lead Pacific Lutheran to a second place finish Sunday at the Pacific Invitational women's golf tournament held at The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club.

Linfield won the team title with scores of 367 and 354 for a 36-hole total of 721 on the 5,800-yard par 72 layout. Pacific Lutheran was a distant second with 383-400 - 783, followed by Pacific 413-410 - 823, and Puget Sound 480-496 - 976.

Shelton had consecutive rounds of 95 for a two-day total of 190. Kristina Norlin had rounds of 96 and 98 for a 194, good for a ninth-place tie. Rounding out the PLU scorers were Julie Heffernan 97-102 - 199, and Paige Henry 95-105 - 200.

Hannah Christianson from Linfield shot rounds of 87 and 83 for a total of 170, good for medalist honors by four strokes.
