PLU in Seventh at NWC Women's Golf Event

RICHLAND - Pacific Lutheran is in seventh place after Saturday's first day of the Northwest Conference Women's Golf Tournament being played at Columbia Point Golf Club.

As has been the case throughout the season, Whitman and George Fox are in a two-way chase for the team title. Whitman shot a 317 on the par 72, 5,888-yard course, one stroke better than George Fox. Whitworth is third with a 33, followed by Linfield 343, Willamette 358, Pacific 365, PLU 382 and Puget sound 423. Lewis & Clark has only one player and does not have a team score.

Kelsey Morrison from George Fox is the clubhouse leader with a 2-over-par 74, with Whitman duo Tate Head and Catelyn Webber three strokes back.

Kristina Norlin led PLU with a 90, followed by Julie Heffernan with a 93, Paige Henry 96 and Emily Cook 103. Cook is playing in her first collegiate tournament.

The team will play 18 more holes on Sunday to conclude the tournament.
