PLU Women Golfers Open Season This Weekend
COMING UP: The 2012-13 Pacific Lutheran women's golf season tees off this weekend when the Lutes compete at the Saint Martin's Invitational to be held at Olympia Country and Golf Club. The 36-hole event includes 18-hole rounds on Friday and Saturday.
TOP THREE RETURN: Pacific Lutheran's hopes for the 2012-13 season are buoyed by the return of the team's top three golfers from last year. Sophomore Kristina Norlin led the team with an average of 91.7 strokes per round during the eight tournaments in which the team played. Junior Julie Heffernan is back after averaging 93.4, and sophomore Paige Henry also returns after averaging 93.5 strokes per round. Also returning are junior Emily Cook, whose only appearance came at the season-ending Northwest Conference Championship Tournament, and Stephanie Miller, a newcomer to the game. The other member of the team is freshman Cierra Pettit out of Capital High in Olympia.
