Four-Way Tournament Turns Into Dual Loss for PLU

RIDGEFIELD, Wash. - It was intended to be a four-team women's golf competition, but instead turned into a dual match in which the Whitman Missionaries defeated the Pacific Lutheran Lutes, 322-357, last Saturday at Tri-Mountain Golf Course.

Playing at 5,800-yard, par 72 Tri-Mountain, the Lutes had a much better performance than their season-opening 10th-place finish at the Saint Martin's Invitational in early October.

Emily Cook led the team with an 85, followed by Kristina Norlin with an 88, Paige Henry 91, Julie Heffernan 93, Cierra Pettit 104 and Stephanie Miller 130.

PLU returns to action on Oct. 27-28 when it competes in the NWC Fall Classic at Tri-Mountain.
