FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Pacific Lutheran took 14 shots compared to 12 for Pacific, but the host Boxers scored a pair of second half goals to take a 2-0 Northwest Conference women's soccer win on Saturday afternoon.
The Lutes are now 4-5-7 overall and 2-5-7 in the conference, while the Boxers improve to 7-7-3 overall and 5-7-1 in the NWC.
Pacific scored the game's first goal in the 54th minute when McKenna Davison took a pass from Sarah Tuff and finished from about seven yards out on the right side. The second tally came from Chandler Bowen in the 78th minute.
Pacific Lutheran wasn't without chances, and in fact forced Pacific keeper Kayla Davidson to make eight saves, seven of them in the first half. Additionally, PLU had six corner kicks while giving away none to the home team.
Lauren Larson put five of her six total shots on goal to lead the PLU offense. The Lutes took 11 of their 14 total shots in the opening 45 minutes.
