FULLERTON, Calif. - The Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis squad concluded its tour of California on a high note on Tuesday, steamrolling host Hope International University 9-0 at the La Habra Tennis Center.
In doubles, PLU's (2-10) Caroline Dreher and Megan Beyers downed the Royals' (1-10) No. 1 tandem, 8-4, while Emily Bower and Emily Beemsterboer secured the 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles. Kristi Floyd and Lauren Kearney were flawless at No. 3, cruising to the 8-0 win.
In singles, Dreher collected a, 6-1, 6-2, win at No. 1 over HIU's Jovana Milosevic while Bower owned a, 6-3, 6-1, win at No. 2. Beyers earned a, 6-4, 6-1, win at No. 3 while Beemsterboer and Kearney both cruised to, 6-0, 6-0, wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions, respectively. Kylie Rademacher continued to be red-hot at No. 6 singles, concluding the trip undefeated with a, 6-0, 6-1, win over Ana Reyes.
"The team played well today and really finished the trip strong," said Head Coach Lorrie Wood.
The Lutes return to the Pacific Northwest and resume Northwest Conference play on Saturday, traveling to face Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon with matches slated to begin at 11 a.m.
