FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Caroline Dreher netted her third singles victory in as many tries but the Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis squad was unable to keep pace with host Pacific University on Sunday, dropping an 8-1 decision to the Northwest Conference rivals at the Holce Tennis Courts.

Dreher rolled to the, 6-4, 6-3, victory over the Boxers' (4-6, 2-5 NWC) Kaitlyn Lomartire at No. 1 singles for her third consecutive win this week. Kylie Rademacher fell, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 5 while Lauren Kearney succumbed to Sophia Nishimura, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 4.

In doubles, the Lutes' (2-12, 1-9 NWC) No. 1 tandem of Dreher and Megan Beyers nearly pulled out the win, getting edged 9-7 while Kristi Floyd and Kearney fell 8-4 at No. 2.

"Caroline played really smart today and picked up her third singles win in a row as a result," said Head Coach Lorrie Wood. "In doubles, Caroline and Beyers battled well at No. 1 but fell just short."

PLU closes out the NWC regular season next weekend, trekking to Spokane, Washington to face Whitworth University on Saturday before facing Whitman College the next day.
