TACOMA, Wash. - This weekend the Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis team closes out the Northwest Conference regular season, traveling to eastern Washington to battle NWC-leader Whitman College (11-6, 9-1 NWC) and Whitworth University (5-8, 3-5 NWC).
Last weekend, the Lutes (2-12, 1-9 NWC) had matches against Linfield College and Pacific University, resulting in a pair of 8-1 setbacks. Caroline Dreher led the Lutes over the weekend, picking up singles wins against nationally-ranked Linfield College, and another win against Pacific University, extending her win streak at No. 1 singles to three matches.
The weekend matches came after a three-game tour of California punctuated by a 9-0 victory over Hope International University on Mar. 29.
The Lutes have been giving their all throughout the season, and making great strides, opening play on Saturday against Whitworth at 1 p.m. at Scotford Tennis Center in Spokane and Sunday against the Blues at 10 a.m. at the Whitman outdoor tennis courts in Walla Walla.
