SPOKANE, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis team opened up its final weekend of Northwest Conference play on Saturday, suffering a 9-0 setback to host Whitworth University at the Scotford Tennis Center.

The Lutes' (2-13, 1-10 NWC) Caroline Dreher had her three-match win streak come to a halt at No. 1 singles, falling, 6-2, 6-2, to the Pirates' (6-8, 4-5 NWC) Bella Hoyos. Megan Beyers battled hard but ended up on the wrong side of a, 6-5, 7-5, affair while Kylie Rademacher proved pesky at No. 6 singles, pushing the match to three sets before getting nipped, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (16-14) to Paige Rohrbach.

In doubles, Lauren Kearney and Kristi Floyd fell 8-6 at No. 3 while Emily Bower and Emily Beemsterboer fell victim to an 8-3 scoreline at No. 2.

"Whitworth was just too strong for us today," said Head Coach Lorrie Wood. "That being said, Kylie Rademacher at No. 6 played smart, battling to a third set super tiebreaker while Megan Beyers at No. 3 also played well, almost pushing her opponent to a third set."

The Lutes cap off the conference season tomorrow morning, facing NWC leaders Whitman College at 10 a.m. in Walla Walla, Washington.
