Blair Bjorkman, who averaged nearly 7.7 digs per set as Pacific Lutheran swept Puget Sound and George Fox last week, has earned Northwest Conference Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week honors.
Bjorkman (Puyallup, Wash. / Puyallup HS), a senior libero, had an incredible 26 digs in the Lutes' three-set victory at Puget Sound last Wednesday, and then added 20 more digs in the three-set home win against George Fox on Friday. She currently leads the conference in both total digs (322) and digs per set (5.75), and she ranks 28th in Division III in digs per set.
Pacific Lutheran, 14-2 overall and unbeaten in eight NWC matches, is back in action this weekend when it makes the trip to eastern Washington to face Whitworth on Friday and Whitman on Saturday in conference play.
