PLU Falls in Three Sets to Saint Martin's

With five starters not playing Tuesday night because of illness or injury, Pacific Lutheran lost a non-conference volleyball match to visiting Saint Martin's, 25-23, 26-24, 25-7, in Olson Auditorium.

The Lutes, ranked 15th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Top 25, are now 17-4 this year, while Saint Martin's, a NCAA Division II program, improves to 5-11.

PLU was led by Chelsea Nelson with seven kills, Brianne Vincent with 20 assists and Amber Aguiar, Haley Urdahl and Nelson with 11 digs each.

For Saint Martin's Teilissa Tua and Kristyn Ross both had 10 kills, Kristyn Ross 21 digs and Halee Hernandez 20 assists.

Pacific Lutheran returns to Northwest Conference action at 7 p.m. Friday when it hosts the Pacific Boxers.
