TACOMA, Wash. -The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its All-Americans on Tuesday with Pacific Lutheran University student-athlete Mackenzie Harris earning Honorable Mention status.
A First Team AVCA All-West Region selection and a Second Team All-Northwest Conference honoree, Harris was the lone NWC student-athlete to be honored. The middle blocker lands Honorable Mention All-American honors after finishing the second ranked second in the nation in blocks per set (1.28). The junior from Snohomish, Washington started all 26 matches for the Northwest Conference Champion Lutes (21-5), leading the team in both total blocks (118) and solo blocks (25). Harris wrapped up the season with 224 kills and ranked third in the conference in hitting percentage at .296.
Harris finished with double digit kills on 13 occasions in 2017, including a 20-kill performance against Trinity University on Friday, helping PLU upset the fourth-ranked Tigers 3-1 in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
