Good News and Bad News for Pacific Lutheran's DenAdel

Sunday wasn't the best of days for Pacific Lutheran cross country runner Alan DenAdel, but good news came his way on Monday when he was named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region Team.

DenAdel, who placed 18th at the West Region Cross Country Championships held last Saturday in Independence, Ore., found out on Sunday that he came up one position and about two seconds short of receiving at at-large berth in the Division III national championship race. Had he received a bid, he would have competed in his second consecutive national meet. DenAdel's time of 25:08.86 at the regional meet was a career best for him.

The good news is that DenAdel earned all-region recognition for the second straight year.

The USTFCCCA recognized nearly 560 athletes that earned Division III cross country all-region awards following last weekend's NCAA regional championship races. Athletes of member schools that finished in the top 35 individually at one of the eight regional sites earned the honor.
