Pacific Lutheran University quarterback Erik Bainter scored six touchdowns in a blowout road win at University of La Verne and on Sept. 19 was recognized for those efforts, securing Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.
 
The Bothell, Washington native scored all six touchdowns in PLU's (1-1) 41-0 throttling of host University of La Verne on Saturday night. Bainter threw four touchdown passes and scampered for two more on the ground in a dominating performance that saw the signal caller complete 72.4 percent of his passes.
 
Bainter was 21-of-29 through the air for 310 yards while running for an additional 62 yards on just seven carries. All told, Bainter racked up 372 yards of total offense in the shutout, PLU's third over the last five games. 

Bainter's six touchdown performance was the most TDs scored in a game for the Lutes since Marc Weekly had six TD passes in a blowout playoff win over Cumberland during the 1993 season.
