Ava Nelson uncorked a personal best throw of 143' 2" to win the javelin at the Sam Adams Classic by 11 inches over a 19-competitor field that included six D1 athletes. Her throw currently ranks second on PLU's all-time list and leads all of NCAA Division III by over a foot.
