NWC Freshman of the Year Austin Darnell finished 24th overall at the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships, helping the Lutes place 16th for their best finish in program history.

Darnell turned in the Lutes' best round in three of the four days at the NCAA Championships at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina. He finished with a 294 (74-68-77-75).
