A monster weekend at the plate has earned Pacific Lutheran University softball student-athlete Nanea Kalama Northwest Conference Hitter of the Week honors on Monday.
 
The sophomore from Kaneohe, Hawaii was red-hot at the plate in the Lutes' NWC opening series against Willamette University, boasting a .636 batting average and a 1.545 slugging percentage. Kalama hit a home run in all three games she appeared in, racking up eight RBIs during the series.
 
The Lutes (4-6, 2-2 NWC) are back in action on Friday, facing Babson College and Illinois Wesleyan University in neutral site contests in Tucson, Arizona.
