Joe Sammartino was named NWC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 4 after helping the Lutes to a 3-0 record to start the season in Wisconsin.

Sammartino tallied a goal and an assist in PLU's 2-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran in the season opener on Aug. 31. The senior assisted on Holton Halfaker's game tying goal in the 51st minute before collecting the eventual game-winner in the 85th minute off an assist from Jaisen Zurfluh.
