Kyle Drugge joined the PLU men's golf staff as an assistant prior to the 2017-2018 season and was elevated to head coach after the 2019-2020 season.

Drugge's first season at the helm in 2020-2021 saw the Lutes win two dual matches, win the NWC Fall Classic, and finish runner-up at the NWC Spring Classic. PLU closed the season by placing fourth at the NWC Championships with Cade Arnold and Jared Beals landing All-NWC honors with Arnold also earning NWC Freshman of the Year.

Drugge is elevated to head coach after serving the past three seasons as an assistant coach for the Lutes. During that time, Drugge helped the Lutes win the Northwest Conference Championship in 2018, finishing the year by placing 16th at the NCAA Division III Championships, PLU’s best ever finish at the NCAAs. Drugge helped the Lutes win three tournaments during the 2018-2019 season and helped the Lutes kick off the 2020 spring season by winning the UPS Invitational before the season was shutdown due to COVID-19.

“I’m very excited for the opportunity,” said Drugge. “I’m fortunate to have a mentor like Kris the last few years. I have big shoes to fill, but I have a vision for this program and I plan to continue to build on what Kris has established as a nationally-competitive golf team. I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead a special group of student-athletes at a special place like PLU.”

A PLU alum, Drugge was a two-time All-NWC selection, earning Second Team honors in 2016 while landing First Team honors as a senior in 2017. Drugge helped the Lutes win the 2017 NWC title and finish 18th at the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships. In addition to his exploits on the golf course, Drugge was involved with SAAC and attended the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in the summer of 2017.
