Seattle U. Beats PLU in Men's Basketball Exhibition

SEATTLE - There was plenty of offense on display on Sunday night as Seattle University defeated Pacific Lutheran, 121-91, in a men's basketball exhibition game played at Key Arena.

Senior post Victor Bull scored 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting and senior wing Kyle MacTaggart tallied 15 points while sinking all three of his three-point attempts to lead the Lutes in scoring. Cameron Schilling, a sophomore wing, scored 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting. Tony Polis came off the bench to register five assists and four steals.

The Lutes were 34-for-85 from the field, including 5-for-9 from three-point range, but were just 18-for-36 from the free throw line. PLU finished with 41 rebounds, 24 on the offensive end. Bull led the Lutes with 10 rebounds, including seven on offense.

Mark McLaughlin came off the bench to score 25 points for the Redhawks, who finished the game with six players in double-figure scoring. The Redhawks were 41-for-68 from the field, good for 60 percent, 11-for 22 from three-point land, and also were 28-for-32 at the charity stripe.

Pacific Lutheran officially opens its season on Friday, Nov. 19, when it plays St. Thomas (Minn.) at the UPS Tipoff Classic.
