PARKLAND - Pacific Lutheran Men's Soccer lost to cross-town rivals Puget Sound 1-0 at Saturday night's home match. UPS is currently ranked one in the North West Conference and continued their winning streak. After the loss, the Lutes stand with a 3-4-conference record going into next weekend's games.
Both teams started out the game strong, but the Loggers were able to keep the Lutes on defense for the majority of the half. In the 43rd minute, Andrew White made a goal for the Loggers with an assist by Cameron Lorek from 10 yards out. With that goal, the Loggers took the lead.The Lutes were unable to find their way back in the second half and UPS took the victory.
PLU keeper Mike Arguello played all 90 minutes of the game and made four saves against the Loggers. UPS keeper Nathan King made one save in his 90 minutes of play. The Loggers outshot the Lutes 12-9 with one shot on goal compared to the Lutes' five.
The Lutes continue their search for wins next weekend when Whitman and Whitworth come to PLU.
