TACOMA, Wash. - Eddie Na tallied his Northwest Conference leading 14th goal of the season on Saturday afternoon but it proved to be too little, too late, as the host Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer team stumbled 2-1 to Pacific University on the artificial turf at East Field.

"This was a difficult loss. We didn't capitalize on opportunities we were presented with and made two killer mistakes," said Head Coach John Yorke. "Pacific is a good team and we did not pour enough of ourselves into the game to do what it took to win."

The visiting Boxers (9-5-3, 7-2-3 NWC) drew first blood with Woodey Greer scoring in the 32nd minute. Shawn Opfer added to Pacific's lead in the 55th minute, scoring on a feed from Elan Yogi. PLU (9-7-2, 6-5-1 NWC) got on the board with 40 seconds left in regulation with Na converting a penalty kick in the 90th minute. It was Na's 14th tally of the season and his fourth goal in as many games.

Jack Rose and Tyler Ohata combined to make two stops in goal for the Lutes while Pacific's Leyton Thommasen turned away five shots in 90 minutes of work.

PLU dominated the stat sheet, owning a 14-6 edge in shots, including an 8-1 advantage in the second half. The host Lutes additionally took five of the contest's six corner kicks.

"We're looking forward to bouncing back tomorrow and giving a great effort for our seniors."

The Lutes play their final home game on Sunday, hosting George Fox University at 2:30 p.m.
