Box Score FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The No. 14 Pacific Lutheran volleyball team opened the weekend road trip with a four-set setback (23-25, 25-16, 25-27, 18-25) to Northwest Conference foe Pacific University.
"Pacific played well and we didn't put the away early which allowed them to play with confidence," said Head Coach
Kevin Aoki.
The Lutes (14-3, 7-2 NWC) were led by senior
Mackenzie Harris with a team-high 16 kills and seven blocks on the night.
Danielle Skibiel had 11 kills and eight blocks on the night.
Defensively, the Lutes were led by libero
Caylie Shiramizu. The senior had 16 digs on the night.
Isabella Zubrod and
Chloe Epker each helped keep the ball off the floor with 11 digs. First year
Ava Nelson had 22 assists on the night, but it wasn't enough.
"Our two middles Dani and Mackenzie has awesome nights. We will bounce back against Linfield tomorrow night!"
PLU returns to the floor tomorrow night at Linfield College at 5 p.m.
