Volleyball Tames Wildcats, 3-0

Box Score MCMINNVILLE, Ore. - The 14th-ranked Pacific Lutheran University volleyball team returned to the win column on Saturday afternoon, dominating Northwest Conference rival Linfield College 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-16) inside Ted Wilson Gymnasium.

PLU (15-3, 8-2 NWC) led 7-6 in the opening set before ripping off seven straight points to gain some separation en route to the 25-17 victory in set one. A similar script unfolded in the second set with the Lutes utilizing a 12-0 run to turn a tenuous 9-8 lead into a comfortable 21-8 bulge on their way to a 25-10 win. PLU led wire-to-wire in the third set, seizing an early 12-1 lead on the Wildcats (6-13, 1-10 NWC) and cruised to the 25-16 victory to wrap up the match in straight sets.

"It was a great response to last night," said Head Coach Kevin Aoki. "We played with an 'All Out, All In' attitude. It was awesome to see a lot of student-athletes get playing time."

Lauren Wilson led the Lutes with seven kills while Isabella Zubrod added six along with eight digs, six assists, and five aces. Emily Dulaney posted up 11 assists while Caylie Shiramizu netted 14 digs.

The Lutes are back on the court on Wednesday night, making the short trip across town to face the University of Puget Sound.
