WALLA WALLA, Wash. -Â The ninth-ranked Pacific Lutheran University volleyball team made quick work of host Whitman College on Friday night, dispatching the Blues 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-21) in a Northwest Conference tilt inside the Sherwood Athletic Center.

The host Blues (6-7, 2-3 NWC) owned a 4-3 edge in the opening set before the Lutes (12-1, 5-0 NWC) collected the next five points, including a trio of service aces from
Emma Peters. PLU held an advantage the rest of the way, securing the 25-18 set win. PLU charged out to a 12-4 lead in the second set to secure the 25-17 set victory.Â

Six of the first eight points went to the Lutes in set three with PLU wrapping up the night with a 25-21 set win to secure the three-set sweep.

"I thought we played pretty solid tonight," said Head Coach
Kevin Aoki. "It was a great team effort but we really served and passed well tonight.
Emma Peters had five aces which was a season-high."Â

Isabella Zubrod paced the Lutes with eight kills and 17 assists while
Danielle Skibiel tallied seven kills. Peters finished with five aces while
Caylie Shiramizu finished with a team-best 17 digs.Â

The Lutes are back on the floor tomorrow, facing Whitworth University at 6 p.m. in Spokane, Washington.Â
