TACOMA, Wash. – After nine Northwest Conference matches this season, the Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer team was unbeaten with a 7-0-2 record, but its nine-match unbeaten streak in conference play came to an end on Saturday as Whitman College defeated the Lutes 2-0.
Despite ripping eight shots in the first half to Whitman's three, the two teams went to the locker room tied at 0-0 after the first 45 minutes.
Oscar Harding broke open the scoring for the Blues in the 56
th minute and Jacob Barsher made it 2-0 in the 73

Keeton Heggerness and
Jackson Moore each had three shots to pace the offense. As a team, the Lutes actually outshot the Blues 11-10 for the game and held a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.
The setback to Whitman snapped an 11-game unbeaten streak for the nationally-rated Lutes. PLU hadn't been beaten since they fell on the road to University of California Santa Cruz way back on September 13.
PLU (10-4-2, 7-1-2 NWC) now sits just one point behind Whitman for tops in the NWC standings. The Lutes look to bounce back tomorrow when they host Whitworth University at 2:30 p.m.
