PORTLAND, Ore. - It wasn't easy but the Pacific Lutheran University volleyball team extended its win streak to four matches on Friday night, erasing a 2-0 deficit en route to a 3-2 (21-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21,15-13) victory over host Lewis & Clark College in a Northwest Conference tilt inside the Pamplin Sports Center.

The homestanding Pioneers (7-7, 3-3 NWC) wasted little time seizing the upper hand, collecting a 25-21 win in the opening set before squeaking out a 25-23 nailbiter in the second. With their backs against the wall, the Lutes (11-6, 4-1 NWC) responded, winning the third set, 25-23, before taking the fourth, 25-21, to force a decisive fifth set.

The Lutes and Pios went back and forth in the fifth set before Pacific Lutheran pushed ahead with four of the final five points to escape with the 15-13 victory to secure the match.

Danielle Skibiel was dialed in with 26 kills, scoring 29 total points with a .322 attack percentage. Mackenzie Pfeiffer netted 15 kills, eight digs, and five blocks while
Baylee Johnson tallied 10 kills.
Emily Dulaney was the glue of the Lute offense, racking up 58 of the Lutes' 60 assists on the evening while adding 10 digs.
Halle Hetzler scooped up 25 digs while
Madeline Dawson and
Emma Peters chipped in 16 and 13, respectively.Â
"We started off a little slow and just battled through it and slowly but surely continued to play Lute volleyball," said Head Coach
Kevin Aoki. "Got to hand it to L&C because they played really well. Danielle had a career-best with 26 kills.
Jazz Alston and
Hope Baldyga really provided some spark off the bench and overall we showed a lot of grit tonight."

The Lutes are back on the court tomorrow at 6 p.m., facing Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.
