TACOMA, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis team made its home debut in style on Saturday, dispatching Highline College 6-3 in a non-conference dual match.
Kylie Rademacher and
Lauren Kearney breezed to an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles while the Lutes (2-1) took the No. 3 match by forfeit.
In singles,
Bayley Gochanour netted a, 6-2, 6-3, win at No. 2 while Rademacher came away with a, 7-5, 6-2, win at No. 4. Kearney cruised to a, 6-4, 6-3, win at No. 5 while the Lutes received a forfeit win at No. 6.
"Bayley played her best match yet, striking the ball with purpose and came away with a solid win," said head coach
Cheri Campbell. "Both Lauren and Kylie were back on the courts for only two weeks and won both their singles and doubles matches. This was a great win to propel us forward as we take on Whitworth tomorrow."
The Lutes are back on the court tomorrow, facing Whitworth University at 10:30 a.m.
