Complete AVCA Top 25 Poll
TACOMA, Wash. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association released its second NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll of the season on Tuesday with Pacific Lutheran University ranking 24th.
The Lutes (6-2) racked up 229 points in the poll, slouching one spot from 23rd to 24th, and remain the lone Northwest Conference squad in the national rankings.Â
Defending National Champion Emory University (6-0) maintained its grip on the nation's top spot, securing 1,942 points and 70 first place votes. Calvin College (6-0) remains second with 1,880 points and the remaining six first place endorsements. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (7-1) sits third with 1,671 points followed by Berry College (6-1) in fourth (1,633 points) and Johnson & Wales University (5-1) in fifth with 1,440 points.Â
The Lutes split its matches last weekend at the University of Texas Dallas Tournament. PLU picked up a 3-2 win over then No. 7 Trinity University and downed Hardin-Simmons University 3-1 but suffered setbacks at the hands of Southwestern University (3-2) and host UT-Dallas (3-0).
PLU competes in its final tournament of the regular season this weekend, travelign to California for the La Verne Tournament.Â
