TACOMA, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis squad swept all six singles matches on Saturday, blowing away crosstown rival University of Puget Sound 8-1 to remain undefeated on the season.
 
Michael Campbell and 
Hampus Pers Eliasson overpowered the Loggers' (0-1) No. 1 double teams 8-1 while 
Derek Stone and 
Branson Near teamed up to claim an 8-4 victory at the No. 3 position.
 
"It was a solid team win today!" said Head Coach 
John Campbell. "We started strong winning two of three doubles with Michael and Hampus winning convincingly at No. 1."
 
In singles play, 
Ryan Adams cruised past Mike Smolskis, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 1 position while Campbell breezed to a, 6-1, 6-1, decision at No. 2. Pers Eliasson claimed a, 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 while Stone walked away with the, 6-2, 4-6, 10-2, win at No. 4.
 
Alex Richter took care of business at No. 5, prevailing 7-6, 6-3, while Near disposed of Sid Atwen, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 6 singles spot.
 
"We kept it rolling by winning all of the singles matches. Everybody played well today. Ryan started out with a solid match at No. 1 and our captain, Hampus, continued to dominate his matches."
 
The Lutes (2-0) are back on the court next Saturday, hosting Community Colleges of Spokane at Sprinker Recreation Center with matches slated to begin at 12:30 p.m.
