Larson's favorite football memory was beating rival team University of Puget Sound during his freshman season. He recalls it vividly: "I knocked the ball out of the running back's hand at the 1-yard line.
Carson Ketter scooped it up in the endzone, then proceeded to use his Usain Bolt running abilities to run it back 106 yards for a touchdown."
In the following seasons, Larson continued to enjoy the action of the game, but also grew as an individual. He has learned how to be disciplined and comfortable with the uncomfortable, and developed valuable leadership skills.
He thanks his coaches and teammates for, "always pushing me to get better and never set a limit on myself because there is always room for improvement."
On the field, Larson has played in 25 games over the past three seasons. The Kenmore, Washington native has accrued 73 tackles during that span, including 13.5 TFLs and 6.5 sacks. A versatile defensive end, Larson additionally has three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and an interception.
"Max has redefined the expectation for effort and commitment in our program," said Head Coach
Brant McAdams. "He compliments his work ethic with selflessness and is always looking for people to bring along with him. You won't find Max without a smile. The way he plays and encourages his teammates will leave a very large footprint that will be very challenging to fill whenever he graduates. Looking forward to his senior year!"
Outside of athletics, Larson worked on the grounds crew, was involved in his friend's radio show, and was the organizer of a lightsaber raid during his freshman year. Larson also participated in volunteer opportunities through football.
Larson will graduate with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Religion. While unsure of his post-graduation plans at the moment, he knows it will for sure include spending more time with Pancake, his pet hamster.
