Triman's favorite memory as part of the football team is from his freshman season. In an exciting game against George Fox, PLU beat the Bruins and knocked them out of the playoffs. Experiences like this established the team environment where Triman learned how to place the success of the team over himself.Â
Â
"PLU Athletics has prepared me for life after football by developing a culture where you care more about your teammates than yourself," Triman said. "I aim to take that off the field and apply that to the real world whether it be with my coworkers or whoever I am trying to help."
Â
Triman is grateful for the lifelong friendships he has created through his time in PLU football. He cherishes the memories on and off the field, including many afternoons and evenings spent supporting other PLU athletics sports' games.
Â
"Joe Triman has been such a great leader in our program. He's one of the first people to step up and promote the team and connect with prospects interested in PLU," said Head Coach
Brant McAdams. Â
Â
"He's played multiple positions on defense and has developed a distinct voice as a leader over the last couple of years. Whether it's encouraging a younger teammate or flying around on defense or special teams, you know you're going to get amazing effort and selflessness."
Â
On the field, Triman has appeared in 12 games over the past three seasons, making 27 career tackles with one TFL.
Â
Triman will graduate with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Sport Psychology and hopes to eventually attend PLU's Master of Science in Kinesiology program. In the meantime, he hopes to give back to the program he loves and coach for PLU football.
