TACOMA, Wash. – The Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis team competed for the final time this year on Saturday at Sprinker Recreation Center. The Lutes battled tough, but were ultimately defeated by Whitman College, 7-0.
Both pairs won two of the 10 games in doubles action for the Lutes.
Taylor Stokes and
Bayley Gochanour competed at the top spot, while
Hannah Jeffries and
Jillian Chong teamed up at the No. 2 position.
In singles, Chong nearly won her first set against Grace Carter, but was outlasted 7-6, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot. Jeffries, Stokes and
Meggie Burnett all won three games in their singles matches and Gochanour took four at the No. 2 spot.
PLU finishes the campaign at 3-7 and 2-6 in the Northwest Conference.
